Royal Army Physical Training Corps (RAPTC) Museum

Founded in 1953, the RAPTC Museum is based “behind the wire” at the Army School of Physical Training in Aldershot and tells the story of the RAPTC from 1860 to the present day. Through interactive and static displays, the Museum shows how physical training in the British Army has advanced from the first organised lessons to modern concepts of fitness and physical training.

Milestones Museum

A trip to Milestones, Hampshire’s living history museum in Basingstoke, brings the past to life. The museum is home to over 20,000 objects that were either made or used in Hampshire, and is a record of the county’s social, industrial and transport history.

Odiham

 is the location of the castle than King John rode from to Runnymede to sign the Magna Carta.  You can visit this by walking along the Basingstoke canal. Odiham has a picturesque high street with coffee shops and restaurants and is worth a visit.

Ascot

 Though a pretty Berkshire town in its own right, it’s fair to say that Ascot is dominated by its spectacular racecourse. Certainly one of the world’s finest and most famous courses, Ascot attracts over half a million visitors each year.

Ascot Racecourse can trace its history back to 1711 when Queen Anne arranged the first meeting. Today’s recently redeveloped racecourse is a sight to behold – with enormous terraced stands and immaculate grounds.

Winchester
